The Last Hymn, Alpine Heights #2

Facing persecution in Austria

The congregation is devastated.  Without warning, soldiers broke into a meeting and took captive all their leaders—and a young girl.

Why was Barbel targeted?  The question haunts Oswald von Laval, a tenant on the Moxenburg estate.  Now the girl he planned to marry is shut up in prison.  And so is his father, one of the ministers.

Although the other prisoners are soon released, Barbel and Oswald's father remain behind bars. Is some sinister motive behind their imprisonment?

During this time of persecution in the Tyrolean Alps, Oswald longs to find rest for his soul. But leaning on the Lord is difficult when his loved ones are in danger of losing their faith--or their minds.  Can Oswald put his trust in the One whose strength is limitless?  Will God rescue him from despair before the last hymn is sung?
