On the Brink

The crackling of the radio broke the silence in the nurses station.  "We are coming in with a nine-year-old boy who has been struck by lighting.  He is not responding."  Quickly the ER team swept into action to prepare for the little boy's arrival.  Dealing with children at death's door was always tough.  Would he make it?  

Only God knew.  As a registered nurse practitioner, the author has incountered many such scenarios.  Shawn has worked in American emergency rooms, among the natives of Mexico, and in the Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. He has learned that working in the medical field involves a lot of drama and is not for the faint of heart. Somtimes heart-breaking, sometimes hilarious, these stories will give you a new appreciation for the hard work of doctors and nurses.

When he was a young boy, the author himself became seriously ill and was on the brink of death. Since then, he has encountered many others who were on the brink—some on the brink of death and others on the brink emotionally or spiritually. All of them needed the care of a compassionate doctor or nurse. And all needed a healing touch from God.
