The people caught up in the war in Ukraine have faced many challenges. For Irina, it was avoiding the daily missiles bombarding her village. For Genna, it was staying behind to evangelize whenhis wife and family left the country. For Kostia, it was surviving as a nonresistant Christian in a military training camp. For Meesha, Tima, Veronica, and other volunteers, it was facing great danger as they delivered food parcels and words of encouragement to people on the frontlines.

I am living in a country at war. I have seen more suffering, sorrow, and sadness in the past four years than in my entire life before the fighting began here in Ukraine. There has been so much needless destruction and bloodshed...

The stories in this book come from people all across Ukraine. The stories don't all have beautiful endings, and many of them are still happening. The people still live in danger, brokenness, and loss. But the stories all have one thing in common: they contain shards of God's grace. -Anya Hursh
