Come meet the authors of the newly released book, Beechdale Road. They will be here at our location in Mifflinburg, PA for a book signing event on May 18th, 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
About Beechdale Road:
On Sunday, June 21, 2020, 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos of Bird-in-Hand, PA was kidnapped and later murdered by Justo Smoker.
Justo is a brother-in-law and uncle to Tim Rogers and Megan Shertzer (respectively), the authors of Beechdale Road. This is their attempt to share their story of grief, anger and pain but also unexplainable grace, kindness and mercy at the hands of the Amish community.
Beechdale Road is a book that's hard to describe. It is just a little book. Approximately 130 pages. But the message it conveys is powerful. A message of how mercy is more powerful than even murder. Simply put: If there is ever a book we recommend, it is this one.
Here is the book description from the authors, Tim Rogers and Megan Shertzer.
On Sunday, June 21, 2020, 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos of Bird-in-Hand, PA was kidnapped and later murdered by Justo Smoker. Justo is Tim's brother-in-law and Megan's uncle. Beechdale Road is our attempt to share our story of grief, anger and pain but also unexplainable grace, kindness and mercy at the hands of the Amish community.
For over a year following Linda’s disappearance, our family had various encounters with members of the Amish community. In this book, we reveal what it was like for us to encounter kindness when condemnation would have been understandable. From meeting Linda’s parents to having a birthday party with Linda’s closest friends to being invited into Linda’s home for her wake, we walk through what it was like to be confronted and changed by the disarming and shocking power of grace, kindness and mercy.
This event is open to all.
Both the hardcover and softcover versions of Beechdale Road will be available for purchase here at the event. If, however, you have already purchased a copy from Golden Apples Bookstore, or some other store, feel free to bring in your copy to be signed. Or if you simply want to meet the authors, this is your opportunity. We look forward to seeing you here!
