Man with a Mission

The line of people looked endless. There were just too many needs! There were mothers who had lost their husbands... children who had no idea where their parents were, peering at Akin with anxious, dark little eyes... men who had lost their wives and children to village raiders... teenage girls who huddled together, afraid of the next attack...

It was in such a setting that Pastor Akin came to Liberia. After growing up in a deeply troubled home in Nigeria, he sensed God's call to go to war-ravaged Liberia, soon becoming the manager of CAM's distribution program. With so many needs around him, Akin realized he could do little without God's enabling power. "Jesus is my Shepherd, and I am His sheep" became his guiding principle.

Akin's Shepherd has guided him through many dangerous and memorable situations. Whether flying over rebel territory in a UN helicopter or going back to his homeland to find a wife, Akin trusted his Shepherd. How else could he hope to convince a girl to marry him in less than a week's time?

Man with a Mission is more than a story about a man - it is a story of what God can do when people trust Him and follow Him.
